People often search for a pdf or electronic version of the Cub Scout handbooks and the Webelos handbook. I'm excited to tell you that BSA has made the handbooks and leader guides available in an Adobe Digital Editions version.

My name is Jason Spangler and I am a lifelong Scouter. I am an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. I grew up going to Camp Coker in Society Hill, SC where I was inducted in Santee Lodge 116 as a youth in 1986. It was that summer that I got hooked on trading and collecting Boy Scout memorabilia. When the Internet took off in the 1990s my wife actually suggested the nickname "Santeeswapper" to honor my roots as a former Lodge Chief of Santee 116 and my passion as a patch trader. Scouting has been a big part of my life. I've served as a Scoutmaster twice in different troops and I count 11 Eagles under my watch. I've done a little bit of everything having been the president of an Explorer Post in college and later the Skipper of a Sea Scout ship in Lumberton, NC. I actually got to serve as a the Girl Scout leader of my daughters very active troop at our church from Brownies through Cadettes. After moving to Charlotte I've got to see my son through 5 years of Cub Scouts as the Den Leader. My daughter joined a Scouts BSA troop on Feb 1, 2019 where I served on the Troop Committee. In the summer I enjoy serving as the Camp Director at Camp Barstow on Lake Murray in SC. I am the co-founder of the largest online trading community in my hobby - the Scout Patch Collectors Facebook Group. I have published dozens of videos on my YouTube Channel focused on the Scouting memorabilia hobby including tutorials and popular unboxing videos when I get a new collection in. Over on Facebook I publish a lot of new material on my Facebook Page. You can catch my podcast where I interview interesting people in the hobby of Boy Scout memorabilia at Scouting Hot Finds Radio. I am always on the hunt to purchase Boy Scout memorabilia collections. Please reach out to me if you are ready to re-home your Scouting items.
Prepare as you would for outdoor overnight Fall outing. The standard BSA Webelos Scout Overnight Checklist in the Cub Scout Leaders Book (page 34-50) is a good one to use. You can also download the checklist from scouting.org.
Aloha Council GAPS Committee is dedicated to assist Scouts with disabilities and the adult leaders who support them. GAPS will effectively train and be a resource for every adult leader in Aloha Council responsible for all scouts with disabilities in their care.
First, everyone should review and strictly adhere to the terms of service and existing guidelines outlined by each individual social media channel (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.). As is true for participation in Scouting activities, all Scouts and adult leaders should abide by the guidelines outlined in the Scout Oath and Law when participating in social networking. As with a Scouting activity, safety and Youth Protection should be a key focus. Staying true to the commitment of the BSA to be an advocate for youth and to keep children and their privacy safe, both online and off, should always be at the forefront of any considerations where social media usage is concerned.
To help ensure that all communication on social media channels remains positive and safe, these channels must be public, and all communication on or through them must be public. This enables administrators to monitor all communication and help ensure there is no inappropriate communication between adult leaders and Scouts or between Scouts themselves. Therefore, no private channels (e.g., private Facebook groups or invite-only YouTube channels) are acceptable in helping to administer the Scouting program. Private channels and private communication put both the youth and you at risk. If you feel the information you seek to share via social media channels should not be shared in public, you should not share that information via social media.
When creating a Facebook page, you should make it a public fan page. In addition, you should designate at least two administrators who have access to the login, password, and page management/monitoring information. This conforms to the two-deep leadership policies of the BSA. At least one of these page administrators should be a BSA employee, a local council employee, or registered volunteer who has taken Youth Protection training. All Youth Protection policies that govern the use of email are applicable to the use of the messaging capabilities of Facebook. 2ff7e9595c
